What's the Diversity Scholarship?

We're launching the Diversity Scholarship to make coding accessible to a more diverse range of people. This program aims to help train and support people coming from historically underrepresented groups in STEM disciplines to start or boost a career in the tech sector. 

Applicants will receive up to $1000 to help fund one of Le Wagon's 2021 full-time and part-time training programs: in Web Development or in Data Science. Take a look at our bootcamps and learn how to apply for the scholarship👇

Learn  Web Development 

Our intensive full-time or part-time programming bootcamp in Web Development is an immersive experience that takes you from beginner to Junior Software Developer. At the end of the course, you will know how to build a robust and user-friendly software that answers your users' needs. 

Here is an overview of our curriculum: 

🏠 Foundations: Learn the core concepts of programming, software architecture, and relational databases.
💻 Web Development: Learn UI Design, front-end development and code your web applications with Ruby on Rails.
📣 Final projects: Invent, design, code, deploy, and pitch personal projects in teams.
💼 Career WeekFrom CV designing, simulations of technical interviews, and face-to-face interviews with recruiters.

Learn Data Science 

Our Data Science course gives you the skills you need to launch your career in data. From Pandas to Deep Learning, you will learn how to explore, clean, and transform data into actionable insights and how to implement Machine Learning models in a production environment. 

Here is an overview of our program:  

🏠 Foundations: Learn the core concepts of Python, SQL, mathematical concepts, visualization, and more. 
💻 Machine Learning, Data Engineering: Get into the art and science of modeling and regression, and learn how to use Google Cloud. We'll also cover concepts like Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing. 
📣 Final Projects:  Get into the shoes of a Data Scientist by building a data product or service in team. We encourage you to be ambitious and creative! 
💼 Career WeekFrom CV designing, simulations of technical interviews, and face-to-face interviews with recruiters. 

‣ Program Requirements: you'll need some prerequisites in programming and maths.

  • Oct. 2 - March 19, 2022 (part-time)

Application steps

This Diversity Scholarship is applicable to the Web Development and Data Science Bootcamps. 

To apply, you need to:

  1. Submit your application using the form on this page

  2. Our Admission team will be in touch with you to schedule an interview 
  3. If your interview with Le Wagon is successful, you will be able to apply to the scholarship. As part of your application, we'll ask you to write a short essay about your motivations to learn web development or data science. 

  4.  Our admission committee will evaluate your scholarship application 

  5. You can start preparing for the Bootcamp!

 

Eligibility

  • You’re 18 or older
  • You're a Canadian resident
  • You identify with one or several underrepresented groups in STEM (Example: Women, Black, LatinX, Indigenous, LGBTQ+)
  • You’ve been admitted to one of our 2021 bootcamps
